Damn...

I was very excited about Call of Duty: World at War, as anyone who read my review of the demo knows. And I still stand by that review. The online multiplayer really is as enjoyable as the previous game. (Although I will never understand, if Halo can have four players playing online on the same console, why does every other game limit you to two and in many cases, one! It's just silly.)

The good old story mode however doesn't live up to the hype. At all. What-so-ever. To begin with, I was playing co-operative (Oh yes. On the same console. It's a miracle isn't it?) and rather oddly, rather than spliting the screen in the conventional way (straight down the middle), they gave us a nice little background with two seperate screens artistically positioned not quite level with each other. Whoever came up with that idea was obviously on some kind of drugs. Or just didn't care. So not a great start.
The game itself plays like number 4, just not as well. It's gittery, graphically flawed and far to tricky in places. The plus sides are the guns, which are nice to play with (when they work) and the fact that you're fighting alongside Kiefer Sutherland. Which I was very excited about. Now it just makes me sad. I don't like crying. You would if Jack Bauer yelled at you.
So, to drown my sorrows, I'm off to play Guitar Hero: World Tour. I was looking forward to it. But I just noticed it has a colon followed by the word 'world'. Maybe I'll just wait and see before I get excited. I'll let you know tomorrow...
